In 2025, we celebrated the centenary of the world-famous actor’s birth with a programme of events that showcased his legacy, and shared how his work has inspired the creative spirit that runs deep in this region.

Known as the Dramatic Heart of Wales for its creative energy, contrasting landscapes, and celebrated performers who have called the area home, Neath Port Talbot played host to arts events, performances, showcases, screenings, workshops, readings, and much more. The celebration inspired and entertained visitors and locals alike, inviting everyone to discover the many sides of ‘the voice of a generation’.

We were delighted to welcome visitors and locals to discover the life and legacy of the proudly Welsh man who became one of the greatest-loved actors of the twentieth century.
